Brilliant, I can’t wait. Blue Harvest was unexpectedly great, let’s hope Dark Side hits the spot too.

    Loud, obnoxious adverts should die

Recently I’ve been watching a lot more TV, mainly due to taking the time to program my DVR in recent weeks. A majority of what I watch is on the BBC and therefore ad free, but I’ve recorded quite a few decent films from ad-supported Film4 recently.

Now I understand why commercial TV channels have adverts and that they are a necessary evil. Film4 itself doesn’t have as many adverts as some channels, but what I have noticed recently is that the adverts are so much louder than the film or TV program.

You’re sitting there infront of the Tele, happily watching a film with the home cinema kit set to a decent volume for the film and then the channel cuts to an ad. Suddenly you have some bloke shouting at you about a cleaning solution or some bimbo shouting ‘I’m worth it’ and flicking her hair. I know my self worth thank you very much and I simply don’t need any more Flash ok? And quite frankly even if I did I wouldn’t buy what you’re peddling simply because you’ve annoyed the hell out of me by being so god damn loud! Seriously, adverts are annoying enough with out being barraged. So please, stop shouting at me ok? If I want to buy your product chances are I already have. In the mean time I’m going to have to speed up my mute/skip button reaction time.
